Here's a short sample strategy, enjoy:
This strategy should be a guaranteed win if steps are followed.
Job/sub needed: SMN with any subjob. I prefer bst.
Items needed: pirates chart, 2x yagudo drink, 2x hi-potion, 2x ether.

You will be fighting 3 mobs, a kraken, crab, and sahagins (yap you can beat these 3 with out a problem at all). When you're ready, trade in the pirates chart to ??? at F-9, then wait a little like 3 secs (you'll know your timings once you did this a couple of times.) just keep pressing enter whenever you are prompted on the short cut scenes. Then summon Ramuh, drink yag, wait for the 3 mobs to pop, then use Astral Flow, target one mob, then use Ramuh's 2hr ability, this should take at least half of their hps, they will then gang up on Ramuh. You then run east along the beach at the end will be a wall that if you follow along going left you'll end up in a cave. You don't want to go in the cave, just before the opening of the cave between the wall and the trees is your safe haven. There are like 3 trees there with maze like roots protroding out of the water. Get behind these trees and the wall. Lets call the tree by the cave opening as tree#1 and the one furthest is tree#3. Here's the glitch, the mob will be going after you from the west, then they will hit tree#3 first, if you are between tree#1 and the wall, the mobs will not go in where you are, the mobs will go around the trees away from the wall (really funny to watch) and meet you on tree#1. Once they are close by you just walk along the wall to tree#3 and the mobs will go back around and try to go where you are. You'll just go back and forth along the wall stoping on the front and back trees and wait for the mobs untill your astral flow is ready again. If you don't have enough MP (you need at least 40 to use astral again ithink) then take the ether. Then, stay on one end, summom ramuh, and wait for the mobs and blast away, then run on the other end again just in case the 3 mobs are not dead yet. There should be one mob left with a sliver of hp left. Take yagudo drinks and another ether and hipot if necessary and summon another avatar and send it to the remaining mob. If you have bst sub, if theres a crab or pugs around, charm it. You might fail but just go back to your safe haven, then keep charming till success. Then just throw it at the remaining mob,and presto..a treasure chest will appear and you might get lucky and get the mercurial kris to drop. You then send your charm mob to other mob and run to selbina, or log out to uncharm. This becomes very easy the more you do it.
