Here's an older sample strategy from our archives:
Shan-To-Kor Boss Strategy

What you need:

- Casters with magic missiles and/or
- Admantine weapons

How to do it:

- Everyone except for the rogue stays behind the gate that closes
- Have your rogue run into the boss room and then into the corner
- The rogue then hides in shadows
- As soon as the gate opens again, have him run back out to the hallway

The boss will then try to follow, but forunately for you he is too big to do that. He will then stand in front of the gate, immobilizied. You can then take him down from with adamantine weapons and magic missicles. A fighter can block any stones he might be throwing (or alternatively: stand behind the rocks in the back of the hallway)
